Hoppers

A closer look at the story

Scientists have found a way to transfer, or "hop", human consciousness into robotic animals so lifelike they are indistinguishable from the real thing. This lets people communicate with animals as animals. Mabel, who adores animals, does not let the chance to use the technology slip by. With her mind transferred into a robot animal, she meets a group of beavers and is enchanted to find she can talk to them. But this new world is far more complicated than she imagined. The deeper Mabel goes, the more she encounters mysteries far beyond anything she could have pictured. Directed by Daniel Chong and written by Jesse Andrews, this 104-minute 2026 adventure animation features the voices of Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm and Kathy Najimy.
