WALL·E

WALL·E: A lonely robot's love story among the rubbish

KINONOOK / EN

A closer look at the story

In the distant future, humanity has abandoned a badly polluted Earth to live out in space. Left behind, the little clean-up robot WALL·E has spent hundreds of years doing the job he was made for, compacting and stacking rubbish and building a little world of his own out of what people threw away. His solitude ends with the arrival of EVE, an elegant robot sent on a search mission. When EVE realises that WALL·E has unknowingly found something vital to the planet's future, she heads back to space to tell the humans, and WALL·E sets off after her into the depths of the galaxy. Directed by Andrew Stanton and written by Stanton and Jim Reardon, the 98-minute 2008 animated film, with Ben Burtt and Elissa Knight voicing the two robots, is a touching science-fiction fable.
