Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

A closer look at the story

Adventurous young Sean Anderson picks up a coded signal coming from a mysterious island in the middle of the ocean. Sean is determined to follow the clues and track down his grandfather, believed lost somewhere on a legendary island. Realising that he cannot talk Sean out of it, Hank decides to go along on the journey rather than let him go alone. The team is complete once helicopter pilot Gabato and his young, beautiful and stubborn daughter Kailani join them. After a violent storm, the group wakes up on a beach to find a world too beautiful to be real: golden waterfalls, volcanoes, never-before-seen creatures and countless secrets lie in wait. Directed by Brad Peyton, the 94-minute 2012 film stars Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzmán and Michael Caine in a family adventure.
