Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

A closer look at the story

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set in a galaxy at war. The Empire is completing the Death Star, a weapon built to destroy on a massive scale, and against this threat a small, mismatched band of resistance fighters comes together. None of them is a hero in the usual sense, yet each chooses to act for the same cause. Their goal is to seize the plans of the terrifying weapon and, by doing so, give the galaxy a fresh reason to hope. On the way, these ordinary people dare to attempt the extraordinary and become part of a struggle much larger than themselves. The film stands on its own, apart from the main Star Wars saga. Gareth Edwards directed this 133-minute science-fiction adventure from 2016, with a screenplay by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy. Felicity Jones plays Jyn Erso and Diego Luna plays Cassian Andor, with Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, Donnie Yen as Chirrut Imwe and Jiang Wen as Baze Malbus.
