The Nun

A closer look at the story

The death of a young nun at a remote abbey in Romania prompts the Vatican to act. Two people are sent to investigate: Father Burke, a priest unable to escape the shadows of his past, and Sister Irene, a young novice on the brink of taking her final vows. On arriving at the abbey they discover that what happened there was no ordinary tragedy and that a terrible secret lies hidden behind its sacred walls. Risking their lives, their faith and their souls, the two find themselves confronting Valak, a malevolent force that appears as a demonic nun, and the abbey becomes a horrifying battleground between life and damnation. Directed by Corin Hardy and written by Gary Dauberman, the 96-minute 2018 film stars Taissa Farmiga, Demián Bichir and Bonnie Aarons in a horror film.
