Buddy

A closer look at the story

Buddy is the star of a classic children's television programme: a magical, singing unicorn in a vivid shade of orange. In the colourful world of "Here's Buddy!", a group of children spend their days singing, dancing and helping Buddy spread happiness. Everything looks cheerful, bright and perfect. One day, however, one of the children refuses to join in. Buddy is far from pleased, and cracks start to appear in this seemingly flawless world. Growing more and more unhinged, Buddy holds the show's cast hostage in a surreal television dimension. What begins as an innocent kids' programme turns into an eerie, offbeat horror comedy. Directed by Casper Kelly, who wrote the film with Jamie King, this 96-minute 2026 film features Keegan-Michael Key as the voice of Buddy, with Cristin Milioti also in the cast.
