After the Hunt

A closer look at the story

The story follows a university professor. One day, one of her star students makes a serious accusation against one of the professor's colleagues. The claim sends shockwaves through the campus and forces the professor into a position she never wanted to be in: she has to decide whom to believe, whose side to take and what to stand up for. Nor does the matter stay between her student and her colleague. The crisis also threatens to bring to the surface a dark secret that she has kept hidden in her own past for a long time. And so she arrives at a crossroads, both personally and professionally. Luca Guadagnino directs this 139-minute 2025 drama from a Nora Garrett script, starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield.
