Shrek the Third
Shrek the Third: An ogre who does not want to be king
A closer look at the story
When the ruler of the kingdom dies, the crown passes to Shrek and Fiona. Palace life, however grand, is not for Shrek, who longs for his peaceful home in the swamp. On discovering that someone else has a claim to the crown, his way out is clear: find young Artie and persuade him to rule the kingdom. Setting off on this madcap journey with Donkey and Puss in Boots, Shrek finds the road full of surprises. Meanwhile, back home, Fiona must fight her own battle against Prince Charming, who is trying to seize the kingdom. Directed by Chris Miller, the 93-minute 2007 animated film, with Julie Andrews voicing Queen Lillian alongside the familiar cast, is a fun fairy-tale comedy.
