A closer look at the story

Guangdong Radio and Television makes Kang's Family, a sitcom in Cantonese. The series is also known by the meaning of its Chinese title: "Migrant Wives, Local Husbands". That name sums up its basic idea: the story revolves around situations that arise when the men of a local family live alongside women who have come from elsewhere and married into the household. Filming began on 18 April 2000, and episodes have aired on the GRT Pearl River Channel since 4 November 2000. For a long time it has reached viewers with two episodes on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Credited to creator Gang Wang, the sitcom features actors including Jintang Gong, Huang Jinchang, Zhidan Su, Ding Ling and Yanfen Hu.
