Aquaman
Aquaman: The heir to Atlantis caught between two worlds
A closer look at the story
Aquaman follows Arthur Curry, who is half human and half Atlantean, on a journey to find out who he really is. Arthur is the son of Atlanna, queen of the undersea realm of Atlantis, and a lighthouse keeper on land, and he has spent his life among people on the surface. In time he learns that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Atlantis. His half-brother, Prince Orm, wants that throne for himself and has no intention of giving it up. Arthur has to embrace the legacy his mother left him and fight the forces of evil. It becomes the greatest journey of his life, one that will show whether he truly deserves to be king. James Wan directed this 143-minute action fantasy from 2018, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall. Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry, alongside Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
