A closer look at the story
Wonder Woman tells the story of Diana, a princess born among the Amazon warrior women. She grows up without ever setting eyes on a man and trains for years to become an unbeatable fighter. Her sheltered world first collides with the one beyond when, in the middle of the First World War, a plane falls onto the Amazons' shores. Realising that mankind's war has reached her own doorstep, Diana leaves her home behind to face the forces of evil and to bring human conflict to an end. In this struggle she works alongside others, confronts danger after danger and begins to uncover powers she did not know she had. Patty Jenkins directed this 141-minute action fantasy from 2017, written for the screen by Allan Heinberg. Gal Gadot plays Diana and Chris Pine plays Steve Trevor, with Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, Robin Wright as Antiope and Danny Huston as Ludendorff.
