The View

A closer look at the story

The View is a morning talk show on ABC's daytime schedule in which the day's most talked-about events are debated around a panel. The co-hosts who gather on the programme tackle the leading stories from their own points of view. Hot topics in the news are at the centre of the show. Expert guests, celebrity interviews and entertaining segments are also essential ingredients of The View. Bringing differing opinions to the same table gives the programme a lively, dynamic feel, letting the audience follow the news while hearing a range of takes. Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Sunny Hostin are among those who have sat on the panel. Created by Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, the programme has aired on ABC since 1997.
