American Dad!

A closer look at the story

American Dad! chronicles the wild adventures of CIA agent Stan Smith and his far-from-ordinary family. Alongside Stan, head of the household and its breadwinner, are his homemaker wife Francine, their college-age hippie daughter Hayley and their high-school son Steve, who is trying hard to be popular. But the Smith household does not stop there. Jeff Fischer, first Hayley's boyfriend and later her husband, is part of the home too. Klaus, who lives in the fish tank, is a man trapped in a goldfish's body, a German ski jumper, to be precise. And of course there is the house's most colourful resident: Roger, an alien who escaped from the CIA, took refuge with the Smiths and drives everyone mad with his endless disguises, brazenness and outrageous stunts. Created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, this animated comedy began on FOX in 2005 and later continued on TBS, with Seth MacFarlane voicing both Stan and Roger.
