Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten

A closer look at the story

Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, meaning "Good Times, Bad Times", is one of Germany's longest-running soap operas. Running on RTL since 1992, the show follows people living in a fictional neighbourhood of Berlin, the German capital. Over the years, the show has frequently refreshed its cast, putting the spotlight on characters finishing their teens or just entering their twenties. In this way it keeps telling stories that speak to a young audience and reflect their world. Characters such as Jo Gerner, Leon Moreno, John Bachmann, Katrin Flemming and Emily Höfer are among its most memorable characters. Still on RTL, the soap has cast actors such as Wolfgang Bahro, Daniel Fehlow, Felix von Jascheroff, Ulrike Frank and Anne Menden.
