The Garfield Movie

A closer look at the story

Garfield is a cat who hates Mondays, adores lasagna and lives a comfortable life as the world's most famous house cat. He never needs to leave home, enjoying a pampered existence in perfect order. That order is turned upside down, however, by an encounter he never saw coming: his long-absent father, a scruffy street cat named Vic, suddenly appears. This odd reunion pulls Garfield and his faithful canine pal Odie away from the cosy life they are used to. Before long they find themselves in Vic's colourful, danger-filled world, right in the middle of a hilarious but extremely risky heist. For a house cat like Garfield, this will be the wildest outdoor adventure of his life. Directed by Mark Dindal, this 101-minute 2024 animation features Chris Pratt as the voice of Garfield and Samuel L. Jackson as Vic, with Hannah Waddingham and Nicholas Hoult also in the cast.
