Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: A tournament he never entered

A closer look at the story

This year Hogwarts is hosting the legendary Triwizard Tournament alongside two rival schools of magic from elsewhere in Europe. The Goblet of Fire is meant to choose one champion from each school, yet, in a way no one can explain, it produces a fourth name: Harry Potter. Younger than the other champions, Harry is forced to face perilous tasks against older and far more experienced students. While his friends help him get ready, the signs that Voldemort is on his way back keep multiplying. Mike Newell takes over as director, with Steve Kloves again on script duty; the 157-minute 2005 film brings Brendan Gleeson into the cast as Mad-Eye Moody in a fantasy adventure.
