About ten years have passed since Sarah Connor survived a killing machine sent from the future. This time Skynet dispatches the T-1000, an advanced shape-shifting model, back in time; its target is the young John Connor, who will one day lead humanity's fight. The rebels respond by sending a reprogrammed T-800 to the same moment to protect the boy. Together with his mother Sarah, who is being held in a psychiatric hospital, John and his guardian must not only escape the T-1000 but try to stop Skynet from setting off a nuclear apocalypse. James Cameron directs from a script he co-wrote with William Wisher; the 137-minute 1991 film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick in groundbreaking science-fiction action.
