A closer look at the story
It is six months after the first film. As more and more people are freed from the Matrix, Zion, the last stronghold of the resistance, keeps growing. Neo has discovered new abilities, among them the power to see the code behind the Matrix. Bad news is not long in coming, though: an army of machine sentinels is tunnelling towards Zion and will break through within 72 hours. While the city prepares for its final battle, the Oracle tells Neo, Morpheus and Trinity that they must find the Keymaker in order to reach the Source. On top of that, Agent Smith has not been destroyed after all and has returned stronger than before. The Wachowskis' 138-minute 2003 sequel adds Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe to the returning cast in a science-fiction action film.
