Your Heart Will Be Broken

A closer look at the story

Polina is a high school student starting at a new school. Her first days there are anything but easy, and she quickly becomes a target for bullying. Looking for a way out, she strikes an unexpected bargain with the school's chief tormentor, Bars. The terms are simple: Bars will act as if he were Polina's boyfriend and protect her, and in return Polina will do whatever he tells her. What starts out looking like nothing more than a game gradually becomes something neither of them bargained for, as real feelings begin to grow between them. Their new romance faces serious obstacles, however. Polina's family and her classmates each have their own reasons for wanting to keep the two apart. Adapted from Anna Jane's novel and directed by Mikhail Vaynberg, this 134-minute 2026 Russian romance stars Veronika Zhuravleva as Polina and Daniel Vegas as Bars.
