Doing Life
Doing Life: Hope that grows through letters
A closer look at the story
Doing Life tells of an unexpected closeness between two people from very different worlds. On one side is a single mother. On the other is a man living behind bars. Their paths cross through letters. A correspondence that begins with a few lines gradually turns into heartfelt, honest sharing. The thoughts, fears and hopes they put into words create an unlikely bond between them. That bond opens a new door for both the mother and the imprisoned man: a way towards forgiveness, love and hope. The obstacles in their way are anything but small, yet the two try to hold on to this feeling against all the odds. Written and directed by Tyler Perry, this 112-minute 2026 romantic drama stars Naomi Baker, Jay Reeves and Tamberla Perry.
