Carrie

A closer look at the story

Carrie White is a lonely, withdrawn teenager who faces endless mockery and exclusion from her classmates at school. Things are no better at home, where her fanatically religious mother, Margaret, keeps her daughter under constant control and subjects her to abuse. With no refuge either at school or at home, Carrie has learned to suffer in silence. But this timid girl has a secret nobody knows: telekinesis, the power to move objects with her mind alone. Carrie begins to explore this ability awakening inside her. Directed by Kimberly Peirce and adapted from the novel by Stephen King, the 101-minute 2013 film stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort in a drama and horror film.
