Heat
Heat: A detective and a master thief
A closer look at the story
Neil McCauley is a master thief who is obsessively devoted to his work and known for flawless planning, and with his elite crew he pulls off daring robberies all over Los Angeles. On his trail is Lt. Vincent Hanna of the Los Angeles police, every bit as determined and tireless in the hunt. Though they stand on opposite sides, the two men recognise, and even respect, each other's skill and dedication. Both know, however, that this game of cat and mouse could end in bloodshed. Written and directed by Michael Mann, the 170-minute 1995 film pits Al Pacino against Robert De Niro, alongside Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore, in a sweeping crime saga.
