Back in Action
Back in Action: A retired spy couple forced back into the game
A closer look at the story
Matt and Emily were once among the CIA's most elite agents. Dangerous missions, false identities and deadly enemies were part of their everyday lives. Fifteen years ago, however, they decided to build a new life for themselves: they quit espionage completely, vanished and started a family. Since then they have been living ordinary lives, keeping their past a secret. Then one day their cover is blown. The dangerous world of their former careers suddenly turns up on their doorstep. To protect both themselves and the people they love, Matt and Emily have to dust off their rusty skills and plunge back into the world of spying. Directed by Seth Gordon, who wrote it with Brendan O'Brien, this 114-minute 2025 action comedy stars Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, with Kyle Chandler also in the cast.
