Lorraine and Ed Warren, who investigate the supernatural, take on one of the most talked-about cases of their careers. Their battle to rescue a possessed boy leads them into territory stranger than any they have known. Events take an unexpected turn when a murder suspect claims he was under a demon's influence when he killed, the first time in US history that demonic possession is put forward as a defence. The Warrens try both to help the accused and to unravel a darker secret stretching from the past into the present. Directed by Michael Chaves and written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the 111-minute 2021 film reunites Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in a horror thriller.
