The Devil Wears Prada

A closer look at the story

Andy Sachs leaves the Midwest for New York hoping to make it as a writer, but her first big job turns up somewhere she never expected: Runway, a leading fashion magazine. Her boss is its editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, one of the most powerful and most feared figures in the industry. With little interest in fashion herself, Andy tries to survive Miranda's endless demands in a world she barely understands. Adapted by Aline Brosh McKenna from Lauren Weisberger's novel and directed by David Frankel, the 109-minute 2006 film stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci in a comedy-drama.
