Snowpiercer

A closer look at the story

An attempt to halt global warming goes catastrophically wrong, and the planet is plunged into an ice age that leaves almost nothing alive. The last survivors ride the Snowpiercer, an enormous train that circles the globe without ever stopping. Even this refuge has a rigid order: the front carriages enjoy comfort and plenty, while the people crammed into the tail have next to nothing. That imbalance keeps the tension rising from one carriage to the next. Co-written by Kelly Masterson and its director Bong Joon Ho, the 2013 film stars Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton and Ed Harris in a science-fiction thriller about inequality and power.
