Wreck-It Ralph

A closer look at the story

For decades Ralph has been the bad guy of an arcade game called Fix-It Felix Jr.: he smashes buildings and the game's hero Felix repairs them. Tired of always playing the villain, Ralph escapes from his own game to prove he can be good. He ends up first in Hero's Duty, a shooter where players battle alien invaders, and then in Sugar Rush, where go-karts race on tracks built from sweets and biscuits. There he meets the plucky Vanellope von Schweetz, whose game faces a grave danger that could spread to every game in the arcade, and Ralph may have set it off without realising. Rich Moore directs this 101-minute 2012 animation, featuring the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch, in a colourful adventure across video-game worlds.
