Exit 8

A closer look at the story

A man finds himself lost in an endless, sterile and monotonous subway passage. The only way out of this strange place is to find exit number 8. The rules appear straightforward: stay alert to anything unusual. Spot an anomaly, turn back at once; if you do not, keep walking, and eventually leave through Exit 8. But missing even one tiny detail sends him right back to the start. The same corridor and the same walls appear again and again, except that sometimes something has changed. In this infinite loop, where the line between reality and illusion grows ever hazier, the man has to keep going without letting his attention slip for a second. Will he ever escape this never-ending corridor? Directed by Genki Kawamura, who wrote it with Kentaro Hirase, this 95-minute 2025 Japanese mystery horror stars Kazunari Ninomiya.
