Bridgerton

A closer look at the story

Bridgerton depicts a glittering world in Regency-era England where wealth, desire and betrayal are intertwined, as experienced by the influential Bridgerton clan. At the centre of the first story is Daphne, the family's eldest daughter. Hoping to follow her family's example and marry a man she truly loves, Daphne has plenty of options, but her older brother rules out the suitors one by one. On top of that, a scandal spread by the mysterious Lady Whistledown tarnishes Daphne's name. Meanwhile, an unexpected attraction springs up between Daphne and the Duke of Hastings, the favourite of the debutantes' mothers. Created by Chris Van Dusen and streaming on Netflix since 2020, the series features Ruth Gemmell, Luke Thompson and Claudia Jessie in its cast.
