The Fault in Our Stars follows Hazel, a teenager living with cancer. The disease began in her thyroid and has spread to her lungs, so she goes everywhere with an oxygen tank. A treatment that shrank her tumours has given her some extra time, but she has always known her condition is terminal. Her life changes when she meets Augustus Waters at a support group for young people with cancer. Augustus has battled the disease too and lost a leg along the way. Spending their days side by side, the two grow close and fall in love. When Hazel is admitted to hospital, Augustus never leaves her side, and later he sets out with her for Amsterdam to make one of her dearest dreams come true: tracking down her favourite author, Peter Van Houten. Josh Boone directed this 126-minute romantic drama from 2014, adapted from John Green's novel by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Shailene Woodley plays Hazel and Ansel Elgort plays Augustus, with Nat Wolff, Laura Dern and Sam Trammell also appearing.
