Isle of Dogs
Isle of Dogs: A boy searching for his dog
A closer look at the story
In a future Japan, a spreading dog flu prompts the mayor of one city to exile every dog to a remote island used as a rubbish dump. Five dogs living on that desolate island, Chief, Rex, Boss, Duke and King, are worn out by loneliness and rejection. Then twelve-year-old Atari Kobayashi arrives, determined to find his beloved dog, Spots. The five dogs decide to help Atari in his search and set off on an epic journey to protect him from the officials who are after him. Wes Anderson wrote and directed this 101-minute 2018 stop-motion film, which, voiced by Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bob Balaban and Bill Murray, is an unusual adventure.
