The Equalizer
The Equalizer: A quiet man's sense of justice reawakens
A closer look at the story
Robert McCall is convinced that his shadowy history is over and has committed himself to a calm, quiet existence. Yet once he meets Teri, a young woman in the grip of a brutal Russian gang, he cannot stay indifferent to her situation. Emerging from the retirement he chose for himself, McCall brings his hidden skills back into play against anyone who preys on the defenceless. From now on, for anyone in trouble with nowhere else to turn, McCall is there. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Richard Wenk, the 132-minute 2014 film stars Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas and Chloë Grace Moretz in a hard-hitting action thriller.
