The Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries: Two vampire brothers drawn to the same girl
A closer look at the story
Elena and her younger brother Jeremy are trying to carry on with their lives after losing their parents in a car accident four months earlier. At school Elena has always stood out for her looks and her grades, and she does her best to hide her grief from everyone. Her life changes when two mysterious brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, arrive in town. Elena and Stefan are immediately drawn to each other, but both brothers are vampires, and both become obsessed with Elena, because she looks uncannily like a stunning, merciless vampire both of them loved back in 1864. Created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, the series ran on The CW from 2009 and ended after 8 seasons and 171 episodes; Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham star in this romantic supernatural teen drama.
