Crime 101

A closer look at the story

A series of high-stakes jewel heists unfolds along Los Angeles's famous 101 freeway. The police suspect a Colombian cartel is behind them. Pragmatic, recently divorced detective Lou Lubesnick, however, is after a completely different suspect: a smiling but solitary thief who has never been caught because he lives by extremely strict rules. This elusive thief has set his sights on the biggest score of his life and hopes it will be his last job. His path, though, collides with that of a disillusioned insurance broker who has reached a turning point in her own life. Lou, meanwhile, edges closer every day, tightening the net as the stakes in the game multiply. Written and directed by Bart Layton and adapted from Don Winslow's novel, this 141-minute 2026 crime thriller stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry and Barry Keoghan.
