Doctor Strange

A closer look at the story

Stephen Strange is a gifted but arrogant neurosurgeon whose career is wiped out overnight when a car crash leaves his hands badly damaged. Finding that modern medicine has no answer, he pins his last hope on a remote place called Kamar-Taj. There a sorcerer accepts him as a pupil, and Strange learns that it is not merely a place of healing but a stronghold in a war against unseen dark forces that menace reality itself. As his new abilities grow, he will have to choose between returning to his old life and defending the world. Directed by Scott Derrickson, who wrote it with Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill, the 115-minute 2016 film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen in a fantasy adventure.
