Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood

A closer look at the story

Los Angeles, 1969. Rick Dalton is a television actor who made his name in a successful western series but whose best days are starting to slip away, and he is looking for a way to break into films. His stunt double and best friend, Cliff Booth, shares the same uncertainty; as they get older, their prospects in Hollywood keep shrinking. Running alongside the story of this pair, struggling to hold on in an industry that never stops changing, is the life of Rick's neighbour, Sharon Tate, a bright young actress recently married to the celebrated director Roman Polanski. Quentin Tarantino is behind both script and camera on this 162-minute 2019 film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in a nostalgic, sharp-witted look at old Hollywood.
