South Park

A closer look at the story

Nestled in the mountains of Colorado, the fictional town of South Park looks quiet and peaceful at first glance, but this little world is in fact deeply troubled. At the heart of the show are four disrespectful elementary school students: Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny. In episodes built around events that are sometimes mundane and sometimes completely outlandish, the children's questioning and often sensible attitudes collide with the overblown, absurd reactions of the adults. Stan and Kyle stand out for their unshakeable friendship, Cartman for his selfishness and spiteful schemes, and Kenny, who comes from a poor family, for dying again and again. Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who also voice the four boys, the series has aired on Comedy Central since 1997 as a sharp-tongued animated comedy.
