A closer look at the story

Cady Heron is the new student at school and has no idea about the unwritten rules of high school life. Unexpectedly, she is welcomed into the most popular and powerful clique in school, the "Plastics". At the head of the group is the scheming, cunning queen bee Regina George, always accompanied by her loyal sidekicks Gretchen and Karen. Cady soon finds herself at the very top of the social ladder. But she makes a huge mistake: her heart settles on Aaron Samuels, Regina's former boyfriend. That mistake instantly puts Cady squarely in Regina's sights. With the help of her outsider friends Janis and Damian, Cady decides to bring down the ruthless predator at the top of the group. In the process, though, she has to learn not to lose herself while finding her way through the wildest jungle of all: high school. Directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. from a screenplay by Tina Fey, this 113-minute 2024 comedy stars Angourie Rice and Reneé Rapp.
