Chicago Fire

A closer look at the story

Chicago Fire takes a close look at the lives of everyday heroes who have devoted themselves to one of the most honourable callings there is. For the firefighters, rescuers and paramedics stationed at Chicago's Firehouse 51, no job is more stressful or dangerous, and yet none is more rewarding. While everyone else flees from danger, they dive into the flames, and every decision they make can decide whether someone lives or dies. That responsibility also demands great personal sacrifice; the pressure of split-second choices and strong egos sometimes set the crew against one another. After a tragic loss, Matthew Casey, whose marriage is on the brink of divorce, and Kelly Severide, the self-assured face of the Rescue Squad, start blaming each other. Even so, once the alarm sounds, they put their quarrels aside and give everything they have for one another. Created by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas and airing on NBC since 2012, the series stars Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg and Christian Stolte.
