Gravity: Two astronauts stranded in the emptiness of space

KINONOOK / EN

A closer look at the story

Gravity is a story of survival far above the Earth. Dr. Ryan Stone, an engineer, is on her very first space mission, flying under the command of Matt Kowalski, a seasoned astronaut on his last assignment before retirement. All seems to be going smoothly until a routine spacewalk turns into disaster: a storm of debris tears into their shuttle and wrecks it. Stone and Kowalski are left adrift with no one but each other. Contact with Earth has been lost entirely, and nothing surrounds them but darkness. Fear gives way to panic, and the limited oxygen they carry dwindles with every passing minute. Their only chance is to keep their nerve and work out some way of getting home. Alfonso Cuarón directed this 91-minute science-fiction thriller from 2013, a British and American production he co-wrote with Jonás Cuarón. Sandra Bullock plays Ryan Stone and George Clooney plays Matt Kowalski, while Ed Harris provides the voice of Mission Control.
