The Chosen

A closer look at the story

The Chosen tells the life of Jesus of Nazareth not in the usual way but through the eyes of the people whose paths crossed his. The series focuses not only on Jesus but on the ordinary people who met him and whose lives were changed by that encounter. Characters such as Mary Magdalene, Simon Peter, Matthew and Andrew stand at the centre of the story, each with their own past, troubles, fears and hopes. This gives viewers the chance to look at a familiar story anew through these people's personal experiences. Created by Dallas Jenkins and running since 2019, the series has reached audiences on platforms such as Prime Video and Angel. The cast features Jonathan Roumie as Jesus, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magdalene, Shahar Isaac as Simon Peter and Paras Patel as Matthew.
