A closer look at the story
Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni... is a Japanese romantic animated series aimed at adult viewers. When her old high school class holds a reunion, Mio Fukatani runs into Takahide Kujou, a former classmate who has been out of her life for years. Back in high school, Mio always wanted to get to know this kind-hearted boy better. When she finds out that Kujou has since become a monk, however, she decides that her chances of a romance with him are practically nil. Drinking to forget her disappointment, Mio is walking home tipsy when she unexpectedly bumps into Kujou again. He sees her safely home. Once they are inside, though, Kujou's desire for Mio becomes plain, and the two spend a passionate night together. That night marks the start of an intense romance between two people who seem utterly mismatched. Broadcast on TOKYO MX in 2017, this 12-episode adult anime features Yuri Katou as the voice of Mio and You Suzushiro as Takahide.
