Fly Me to the Moon

A closer look at the story

NASA is preparing to send humans to the Moon, but the agency's public image is far from glowing. Brought in to fix it, brilliant marketing specialist Kelly Jones soon makes life even harder for Cole Davis, the man in charge of launching Apollo 11. As Kelly's bold, unconventional methods collide with Cole's disciplined, serious manner, sparks fly between them. Then things get even more complicated: the White House decides the mission is too important to fail, and Kelly is instructed to prepare a backup plan. That plan is to film a fake Moon landing in case the real one goes wrong. And so begins the most thrilling countdown both in space history and in the lives of two people. Directed by Greg Berlanti and written by Rose Gilroy, this 132-minute 2024 romantic comedy stars Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum.
