Ready or Not

A closer look at the story

Grace marries Alex, the man she loves, at the magnificent mansion of his fabulously wealthy family. On the wedding night she had imagined as the start of a happy future, Alex tells her about a family tradition that goes back a very long way: to be fully accepted into the family, she must meet its members at midnight and play a game determined by a card she draws. Grace's card names a seemingly innocent game: hide-and-seek. She soon realises, however, that this is no ordinary game and that the whole family, her absurdly rich in-laws included, is getting ready to hunt her down. Her wedding night turns into a fight for survival. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the 96-minute 2019 film stars Samara Weaving, Adam Brody and Andie MacDowell in a darkly comic horror film.
