Bones and All

A closer look at the story

Maren Yearly is a young woman who longs to live a respectable, ordinary life. Yet a shameful and terrible hunger she has carried since childhood keeps dragging her down: whenever someone cares about her too much, she cannot stop herself from eating them. After being abandoned, Maren sets out on a long odyssey along the back roads of America to track down the parent she never knew and, really, to find herself. On the way she meets a drifter who, like her, has been pushed to the margins of society, and a powerful bond grows between them. But however hard they try, every road leads them back to their terrifying pasts. In the end, a reckoning awaits them, and with it the question of whether their love can outlast what makes them different. Directed by Luca Guadagnino and adapted from Camille DeAngelis's novel, this 131-minute 2022 horror romance drama stars Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet.
