Frasier

A closer look at the story

After many years at the Cheers bar, psychiatrist Frasier Crane returns to his home town of Seattle and starts giving advice to listeners on a radio show. The real reason for his return, though, is that his father, Martin, a policeman, took a bullet to the hip while on the job. Now retired, Martin moves into Frasier's elegantly furnished apartment with his dog, Eddie, and before long his live-in caretaker, Daphne, joins them as well. And so the refined world of Frasier and his brother Niles, also a psychiatrist, with its sophisticated tastes, expensive drinks and fine art, collides with the plain, everyday lifestyle of their father and Daphne. The brothers' never-ending neuroses, family tensions and mix-ups at the radio studio with Roz create the show's laughter-filled world. Created by David Angell, Peter Casey and David Lee and airing on NBC from 1993 for eleven seasons and 264 episodes, this sitcom stars Kelsey Grammer as Frasier.
