The Big Short
The Big Short: The ones who saw the crash coming
A closer look at the story
While the big banks, the media and the government believe everything is fine, four people on the fringes of the financial world realise that a global economic collapse is on its way. Michael Burry, Mark Baum and the others build a daring idea on a prediction nobody else believes: placing a huge bet against the market. These bold investments introduce them to the dark side of modern banking and show how rotten the system's foundations really are. When the crash comes they will make millions, but they will also be forced to question everything and everyone. Directed by Adam McKay, who wrote it with Charles Randolph, the 131-minute 2015 film stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt in a sharp black comedy.
