A closer look at the story

A politician running for mayor of Los Angeles faces the worst nightmare of his life at the most critical stage of his campaign: his son has been abducted. The kidnappers want a ransom, and the candidate and his wife have just a matter of hours to find the money. There is one problem, however: most of their savings have gone into the campaign. Racing the clock, the couple are forced to resort to methods they are not used to and get their hands dirty to rescue their son. Every decision they make has the potential to change the course of their family and their future. What is more, this desperate struggle threatens to expose a hidden part of their lives that they never wanted anyone to see. Directed by Ben Affleck, who wrote the film with Billy Ray and Connor O. McIntyre, this 106-minute 2026 thriller stars Ben Affleck, Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson and Steven Yeun.
