The Death of Robin Hood

A closer look at the story

The Death of Robin Hood takes an unconventional, dark and introspective look at the outlaw who has inspired legends for centuries. Robin Hood is no longer a young hero; he has a long life of crime and killing behind him, and the weight of his past bears down on his shoulders. While trying to come to terms with what he has done, he goes into a battle he believes will be his final fight. He does not die when it ends, though; badly wounded, he hangs between life and death. In this fragile moment, he is found by an enigmatic woman. In her care, Robin is offered something unexpected: an opportunity for redemption. With this chance, the weary warrior must not only heal his body but also reckon with the wounds of his soul. Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, this 123-minute 2026 adventure drama stars Hugh Jackman as Robin Hood, with Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård and Murray Bartlett also in the cast.
