A closer look at the story
A group of scientists and explorers comes across a startling clue on Earth to where humankind came from. The discovery sends them on a long and thrilling voyage to the darkest reaches of the universe in the hope of finding answers. Among the crew are Elizabeth Shaw and David, and at their destination they confront a reality very different from what they expected, one that forces them into a terrifying struggle on which humanity's survival depends. Directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof, the 124-minute 2012 film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba in a dark science-fiction thriller.
